Chair of ESEMC - Tim Lee
Dear Delegates, Welcome to the Emergency Summit of the European Refugee Crisis of Island Model United Nations 2016. My name is Tim Lee and I am a senior major in the department of Real Estate and Built Environments. Your Dias is also composed of Tynthie Liao, a sophomore major in the department of Economics, Penny Yu, a sophomore major in the department of Foreign Languages and Applied Linguistics. And we all are the students of National Taipei University. I first met Model United Nations coincidentally when I was in high school. In the world of Model United Nations, I improved my writing skills and learned how to communicate with other delegates. Also, I become more confident when giving a speech in front a lot of people. What’s more, I met a lot of new friends at every Model United Nations Conferences. Through the debates with other delegates, I can be more persuasive when exchanging opinions with others. Model United Nations not only broadens you horizons but lead you closer to the world. Delegates who join the Emergency Summit of the European Refugee Crisis will discuss the European migrant crisis. Vast numbers of migrants have made their way across the Mediterranean to Europe in 2015, sparking a crisis as countries struggle to cope with the influx, and creating division in the EU over how best to deal with resettling people. This ongoing and urgent issue raises awareness worldwide. We are looking forward to see delegates come up with concrete and feasible solutions. Feel free to ask through emails if you have any questions. Sincerely, Tim Lee Chair, Emergency Summit of the European Refugee Crisis Island Model United Nations 2016 [email protected] |
